It might be easy to criticize the Tulane football program for their play on the field this year, as they currently carry a 1-3 record, but nobody can say that they don’t have style. The program unveiled what just might be the boldest look in college football this morning with their new “Fear the Wave” uniforms they plan to debut this weekend against Memphis.
While this isn’t the first time they have stepped outside of the box with uniforms (see their week one powder blue and white combo), the Green Wave have traditionally donned a simple green/white color combo with a simple “T” in front of the angry wave logo on the helmets.
This week, however, Tulane is shaking things up with their unveiling of their new, crisp all-black alternate uniforms and their brand new “Angry Wave” helmets, and while we’ve seen some pretty bold helmet designs in the past, none of them hold a candle to this one. With the Green Wave logo taking up the entirety of the helmet, it is a design that you can’t help but admire, especially when paired with a brand new jersey/pant combo.

The Green Wave have had a tough season thus far, suffering one-score losses to both Wake Forrest and UAB, along with having the unfortunate privilege of being the first opponent for newly reinstated Urban Meyer and his undefeated Buckeye team. Tulane will play host to Memphis tomorrow night, and as they look to start fresh with their new uniforms and get back on track, that’ll be easier said than done as the Tigers come into this matchup with a 3-1 record, all of their wins coming by double digits, and their only loss being a 1 point loss to Navy in week two.
Be sure to tune in tomorrow night at 8:00 pm, and let us know what you think of the new uniforms in the comment section below.
