The Michigan – Michigan State football rivalry was reignited on Saturday, Oct. 20 when players from both teams were involved in a pregame altercation during warmups which included one player intentionally defacing the Michigan State midfield logo at Spartan Stadium.
After tempers flared and players could be seen jawing back and forth, Wolverines linebacker Devin Bush was seen running his cleats through the logo which then had to be repainted.
FOX Sports shared a close-up video of the altercation.
Michigan also had the last laugh, coming away with a 21-7 victory over the Spartans.
The Wolverines currently sit at 7-1 on the season and are in a first-place tie with Ohio State in the Big Ten East. Michigan has hauled off seven victories in a row.
Michigan State, meanwhile, is sitting at 4-3 on the season.
Next up for Michigan is a meeting with the No. 18 Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday, November 3. Michigan State will be looking to rebound on Saturday, Oct. 27 when they hit the road to take on the Purdue Boilermakers.
