Urban Meyer’s daughter, Gigi, is sticking up for her father. College football insider Brett McMurphy, who first brought up the news about Urban Meyer’s knowledge of former wide receivers coach Zach Smith’s domestic abuse, recently reported that Smith used a racial slur against a player at practice. Gigi wasn’t having any of that.
Gigi gave a short response to McMurphy, but there was no doubt about how she felt.
“You are a joke,” she wrote.
@Brett_McMurphy you are a joke.

Members of the Ohio State football team have also come out to defend Smith and deny the report.
“I witness the whole altercation and this didn’t happen.. You think a group of African American young men will sit there and let something like this happen? Say what you want but this isn’t true at all,” Johnnie L. Dixon III wrote.

Wide receiver Parris Campbell added, “There’s no way that anyone would believe this. NO WAY. This lie is just out of hand. I was present during the entire altercation and what’s said in this article NEVER HAPPENED. I can guarantee it. Crazy how social media gives people platforms just to spread nonsense.”

Ohio State investigated the alleged incident and also denied McMurphy’s report.
There has been no further comment from the university or head coach Urban Meyer.
