The FCS wrapped up an exciting 2018 college football season with the North Dakota State Bison once again claiming the national championship. Now that the season is over, it means it’s time for the updated rankings. On Monday, January 7, the American Football Coaches Association unveiled the updated AFCA FCS Coaches’ Poll for the final time until next season.
North Dakota ran the table in 2018, starting the season ranked No. 1 and ending atop the poll once again. The Bison claimed their seventh national championship in eight years with a win over No. 2 Eastern Washington.
Eastern Washington finished at No. 2, while South Dakota State, Kennesaw State, and Main rounded out the top 10.
This season, for the first time ever, the AFCA is in charge of the administration of the FCS. It had previously been run by the Southern Conference. The AFCA also administrates the Division II and Division III Top 25 polls.
