The Texas Tech men’s basketball team reached the Final Four for the first time in school history. The Red Raiders then knocked off the Michigan State Spartans and will now face the No. 1 seed Virginia Cavaliers for the national championship.
In order to allow students appropriate time to enjoy the historic game, administrators have canceled all classes after 5:00 p.m. on Monday and all day on Tuesday.
“”In light of the Texas Tech Men’s Basketball victory Saturday night taking them to the championship game on Monday evening, all classes scheduled after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8 and all day on Tuesday, April 9 are canceled. Classes will resume as scheduled on Wednesday, April 10,” an email to the students read.
“Academic buildings and the Library will close for entry as of 6:00 p.m. Monday, and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday. Students and faculty in classes that begin prior to 5:00 p.m. Monday and continue past 6:00 p.m. will still be able to exit their buildings. Non-academic buildings will operate normally, both Monday evening and Tuesday, unless otherwise indicated. ”
