Porter Jr entered the season without much draft hype. However, as he continued to play and flash potential scouts took notice. Porter Jr averaged 9.5 points, four rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game while also averaging 41.2 percent from three-point range. The Seattle native’s height is listed as 6’6 which easily beats the standard of NBA shooting guard. The lefty is explosive, can shoot and also handles the ball very well for a player his size.
However, Porter Jr has an interesting history with the Trojans. He was previously suspended indefinitely by USC because of an undisclosed conduct issue. This could potentially hurt Porter Jr’s draft stock but not too severely.
In Bleacher Reports most recent mock draft they had Porter Jr being taken with the 17th pick to the Orlando Magic. If Porter Jr falls outside the top ten one team may be getting the steal of the draft.
Porter Jr will be represented by Roc Nation in the upcoming draft. The NBA draft will take place on Thursday, June 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
