As college baseball fans prepare for the Road to Omaha, the latest set of D1baseball Top 25 rankings, powered by Louisville Slugger, was released on Monday, May 13. As you might expect, the UCLA Bruins were able to hold on to the top spot for the eighth week in a row after a 3-1 record last week.
Stanford held strong at No. 2, while previously ranked Oregon State suffered a freefall from No. 3 to No. 12. The top five was rounded out by the Vanderbilt Commodores, Arkansas Razorbacks, and Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Teams that dropped out of the rankings altogether were the Indiana Hoosiers, Arizona State Sun Devils, and UC Irvine Anteaters.
Conferences with strong showings in the rankings were “the SEC has eight teams in the rankings, with No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 4 Arkansas and No. 5 Mississippi State leading the charge, followed by No. 8 Georgia, No. 11 Ole Miss, No. 15 LSU, No. 17 Texas A&M and No. 21 Missouri. The ACC has six teams in the rankings, led by No. 6 Louisville and No. 7 Georgia Tech. North Carolina, NC State, Miami and Florida State also are ranked, with the Hurricanes moving into the Top 20,” according to the release.
