LiAngelo Ball Says 3 Teams Showed Interest in Him for NBA Summer League

LiAngelo Ball is not giving up on his NBA dream. The middle Ball brother has had a rocky road since leaving UCLA following a shoplifting incident in China, including stops in Lithuania and his father’s JBA league before ultimately going undrafted.
After going undrafted, there was no interest from NBA teams in signing LiAngelo to a Summer League roster, but in the official trailer for season 5 of the family’s Facebook reality series Ball in the Family, ‘Gelo says that has changed.
According to LiAngelo, multiple teams have shown interest.
“They said three teams is looking for me for summer league,” LiAngelo said in the trailer. “Stuff is starting to fall into place and it feels good.”
Unfortunately, the 20-year-old had to undergo ankle surgery to repair ligaments and ultimately ended up sitting rehabbing over the summer. But if there was legitimate interest, perhaps he could land a roster spot from one of the three teams’ G-League affiliates.
We will just have to wait and see, and it could all play out when the show returns to Facebook Watch.
