Ole Miss will delay Notice of Allegations response for 30 days

Recently, the University of Mississippi was involved in an alarming total of 28 alleged violations of NCAA rules.  Ole Miss was supposed to release its response to these allegations by Friday, but will not be doing so because they were given an extension of 30 days by the NCAA.

The school released a statement on Friday afternoon.

“One of the other parties to the NCAA Notice of Allegations has requested and received a 30-day extension to respond to the notice,” the statement read. “This extension is an often used tool available to all parties, and the Notice of Allegations itself has not changed in any way. Upon the completion of the 30-day extension period, the University will release our full Response to the Notice of Allegations.”

No one is sure who the “other parties” the Rebels are mentioning actually are at this time.

Of the 28 violations, a total of thirteen scandals are football related, with the complaints targeted mainly at assistant coaches Chris Vaughn and David Saunders. The rest of the violations are in regards to the track and field and women’s basketball sectors.
