One of the top Class of 2017 recruits from the state of Louisiana, running back Travis Etienne, has been attracting the attention of a number of the nation’s top programs.
On Wednesday, reports surfaced that the three-star recruit has narrowed down his list of potential suitors to five.
According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Etienne, who held more than 20 offers, is considering an SEC-heavy top five which includes the Arkansas Razorbacks, Alabama Crimson Tide, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Tennessee Volunteers and Mississippi State Bulldogs.
During his junior year, Etienne reportedly recorded 2,938 rushing yards and 50 total touchdowns.
The full breakdown of his stats are pretty remarkable.
Junior Year Stats
11-Games
244-Carries
12.04-Per Carry
267.09-Per Game
2,938-Rushing Yards
44-Rushing TD's
50-Total TD's— Travis Etienne Jr⁶𓅓 (@swaggy_t1) February 4, 2016
If Etienne can continue to build off of his high school success, there could be more programs trying to make a play for his services later in the recruiting process. But if he sticks to his guns, there could be a very happy SEC program sooner rather than later.
