Chris Weidman had to pull out of his main evet title shot at UFC 199 due to a pretty serious neck injury. There are few people who know what he is going through, but former professional wrestler and 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle certainly does.
Weidman had to pull out of his title shot against Luke Rockhold due to a bulging disc in his neck, a similar injury to what Angle had when he won his gold medal nearly 20 years ago.
Not long after Weidman pulled out of the fight on Wednesday, Angle took to Twitter to offer his assistance as he prepares for a likely surgery.
Chris, give me a follow. I can help you at with the neck situation. Prayers are with You

Angle’s injury was a little more severe than Weidman’s after the former was dropped on his head during his run at the US Olympic trials. He broke four vertebrae in his neck and, against doctor’s wishes, wrestled through the entire tournament and won.
One of his major selling points during his run through WWE and TNA was that he won his gold medal with a “broken freaking neck,” which was 100-percent true. If there is anyone Chris Weidman should take advice from, it is Kurt Angle.
