Kobe Bryant offers Kevin Durant free agency advice

The Oklahoma City Thunder are fresh off of a Western Conference Finals loss to the Golden State Warriors, which means Kevin Durant is now set to hit the free agency market.

There is plenty of speculation about where Durant could land if he bolts Oklahoma City, so one NBA legend offered friendly.

Recently retired Kobe Bryant spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Lakers, but he was known to consider all options during free agency. When discussing what Durant should consider, Bryant said the star free agent needs to look at all options.

“You’ve just got to look at it holistically. What does he want out of his career, what opportunities present themselves, even I – when I was a free agent – I did my due diligence, I looked at every opportunity and I left no stone unturned, so you have to vet those things,” Bryant told Alysha Tsuji of For The Win.

“I was just very fortunate things worked out for me in Los Angeles, but he certainly needs to look at every opportunity and make the right decision for himself – keeping in mind his fan base in Oklahoma, as well.”

The smart money would be on Durant signing a one-year deal to return to the Thunder. That would allow him to play out on more season with Russell Westbrook before the duo could decide together what move to make in the future.

It’s certainly going to be interesting to see what happens with the Durant situation in the coming months, so stay tuned.
