Former Kentucky F Marcus Lee commits to Cal

The Cal Golden Bears just got a little stronger on Saturday when former Kentucky forward Marcus Lee announced his commitment to the team. The announcement came after he announced his transfer from the Wildcats last month.

Lee had originally declared for the NBA Draft, but he decided to withdraw his name from consideration and return to school. However, he would not return to Lexington as he wanted to be closer to his family in California.

He had been looking at Cal since deciding to transfer from Kentucky and it was only a matter of time before he made his commitment final. He will be a big piece for the Golden Bears starting next year after he sits out the 2016-17 season due to NCAA transfer rules.

Marcus Lee, a San Francisco Bay Area native, averaged 6.4 points on 68 percent shooting, 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks last season at Kentucky.
