If you are from the Dallas area, you are likely very familiar with legendary sports anchor Dale Hansen. You also, have likely been affected by the horrific shootings which left five officers dead earlier this week.
Hansen has become known for his “Hansen Unplugged” segments, which allow him to speak candidly about a certain subject.
On Friday, he spoke his mind about the shootings earlier this weekend and it was certainly an emotional moment for him.
He dropped one of the more powerful lines that shows the city will fight through this terrible tragedy, but also lets everyone know that this has become all too common in this country today.
“We’ll fly our flags at half-mast, we’ll say all the right things, we’ll make promises we won’t keep, and then, nothing will change,” he says. “Our lives will go on, while the lives of so many others won’t, because we expect it now and we accept it.”
