Northwestern adds Nevada, Bowling Green to 2017 schedule

The Northwestern Wildcats are looking to make a move at possibly being a top contender in the Big Ten over the next few years and they have a shot at doing just that this year. However, it looks like they are already looking forward to their 2017 schedule as they finalized it on Wednesday.

The team announced that they would open the 2017 season against the Nevada Wolf Pack and then face off against the Bowling Green Falcons two weeks later. It will be their third meeting with both teams as they hold a 1-1 record against the former and an 0-2 mark against the latter.

The Wildcats faced off against Nevada last in 2007, when C.J. Bacher led a game-winning 80-yard drive. They faced off against Bowling Green in the 2003 Motor City Bowl, falling 28-24.

Northwestern now has all three of their non-conference games set as these two games will be split by a Week 2 trip to play the Duke Blue Devils. This team certainly looks to be on their way to making noise in the Big Ten and a 3-0 start would be the best way to do just that.
