The 2016 ESPY Awards closed out with a musical tribute to The Greatest of All-Time, Chance the Rapper.
After a speech by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, a microphone was lowered from the rafters in traditional boxing style. As the microphone dropped to the stage, Chance the Rapper emerged and a video montage of Muhammad Ali began playing on the screen.
Ali, who passed away at age 74, then received an incredible tribute in the form of a new original song from Chance, who was joined on stage by Donnie Trumpet, Jamila Woods, Peter Cottontale and Teddy Jackson.
You can check out the performance below:
Not only did Chance the Rapper serenade the crowd with the great tribute, he also took the time to have a little dance with reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry backstage.
Besides praying this is the best way to prep for a big moment #ESPYS cc: @StephenCurry30 pic.twitter.com/qf4kC2kACl
