The Duke Blue Devils have lost Thomas Sirk to a torn Achilles tendon and they will likely be looking for a new quarterback to lead the team in the next few months. They might have gotten that when 2017 four-star quarterback Jack Sears has committed to the team.
The Blue Devils lucked on Monday when Sears made his decision to leave his homestate of California and head to the East Coast for his collegiate career. He chose Duke over USC and UCLA.

During his junior year at San Clemente High School, Jack Sears threw for 2,697 yards, 37 touchdowns and two interceptions, while rushing for 862 yards and nine touchdowns. It certainly seems like he could be a big part of the Blue Devils’ offense going into the 2017 season.
He is currently the No. 5 ranked pro-style quarterback in the country and the No. 18 overall prospect in the state of California. He chose Duke over Arizona, Arizona State, Ole Miss and Tennessee among many others.
