Traci Carter transfers to La Salle from Marquette

La Salle gained a little backcourt depth in guard Traci Carter. The former Marquette Golden Eagle has confirmed that he will transfer to La Salle after playing in eight games for Marquette this season.

The former Golden Eagle started four games this season and averaged 3.6 assists per game. He also shot 57 percent from the field, and 43 percent from beyond the three point line. The Philadelphia product had an impressive freshman season last year, leading the Golden Eagles in assists per outing; he averaged 5.6 points per game, and 4.6 assists per game. He was off to a similar start this season before sustaining an injury.
Carter, who is originally from Philadelphia, made the decision largely because he wanted to be closer to home. Marquette is located in Wisconsin, while La Salle is located in North Philadelphia.
The La Salle Explorers are off to a great start this season and currently sit at 10-5. With the addition of Carter, next season could be more of the same. According to NCAA transfer rules, Carter can be eligible for the second semester of the 2017-18 college basketball season if he fulfills the proper academic requirements needed.
