While most have known what their plans for the future already were prior to today, Jeremy Clark learned of the destiny that was decided for him.
The Michigan Wolverine who had applied for an additional year of collegiate eligibility by way of a medical hardship waiver had his request denied today. With a definitive answer on his future, Clark must now decide what he will do with himself, football or otherwise.
Clark suffered a torn ACL in Michigan’s game against Penn State on September 24th, the fourth game of the season.
Because the NCAA rules stipulate that a player can only have participated in three contests, or 30 percent of the a teams games to be eligible for the waiver, Clark narrowly missed being granted the waiver. Also working against Clark was that his true-freshman season was used as a non-injury redshirt; many players granted the exception have had multiple season nullified by injury.
According to a source, Jeremy Clark has been denied a sixth year of eligibility. Has signed an agent and will pursue his NFL options.

The injury leaves Michigan thin at defensive back; adding to a growing list of positions that will rely on very young players in starting positions. Clark would have added experience to a young staff and likely received more playing time then ever before. None of that matters now, though, and the 6 foot 4 inch defensive back will now focus on the NFL draft.
With the type of size NFL Scouts drool over at his position, he is in good position to make a living at the next level if he can stay healthy.
