Cotton Bowl Moved Into Primetime For 2017 Season

The date and time of the Cotton Bowl has been changed this season in an attempt to maximize viewership.
The game has been moved to a Friday night, primetime slot following success with the Orange Bowl last season with a similar tactic.
The exact kickoff of the game is not yet decided.


Last season, the Cotton Bowl featured Florida State and Michigan in what proved to be one of the more thrilling bowl games of the season. It also proved to be one of the most thrilling, and drew a lesser audience only to the two semi-final games. They are hoping to receive results akin to what they experienced when the moved the Orange Bowl to primetime and drew 11.7 million viewers.
The Cotton Bowl will be featured in a triple-header along with the Fiesta and Orange Bowls. Meanwhile, the CFP semifinals are remain on New Year’s Day this season in the Rose and Sugar bowls.
