On Monday night, Duke Blue Devils star Tyus Jones made a cameo at the Minnesota Twins’ home opener against the Kansas City Royals at Target Field.
No, Jones did not throw out the first pitch, but he had the assist.
The honor of tossing out the first pitch belonged to NBA star Kevin Garnett, but it was Tyus Jones who delivered the ball for the ceremonial throw across home plate.
Tyus Jones, a native of Apple Valley, Minnesota and the Most Outstanding Player from the 2015 NCAA tournament, is currently deciding whether he will return to the defending national champion Duke Blue Devils or declare for the 2015 NBA Draft.
In the meantime, he’s enjoying taking part in ceremonial pitches.

The Cauldron also provided video of the moment.
Unfortunately for the Twins and their fans, the home opener did not go as planned. The Twins fell to the Royals, 12-3.
