Oregon transfer becomes first in family to graduate college

This time of year is certainly an exciting time to be a college student on the verge of receiving an undergraduate degree. From one former Pac-12 celebrating his graduation to a future Pac-12 quarterback celebrating becoming the first in his family to graduate college.

Former Eastern Washington Eagle and future Oregon Duck quarterback Vernon Adams can claim something that no one is his family has done after receiving his degree.

Adams celebrated with his family after he graduated from EWU on Saturday afternoon and will transfer to Oregon for his final year of eligibility.

Don’t let Adams’s playing at a FCS program fool you. He is known for breaking records with the Eagles after he threw for over 10,000 yards and 110 touchdowns during his tenure at Eastern Washington. He also led the Eagles to two straight FCS Semifinals appearances in 2012 and 2013. The Eagles also won a national championship in 2010, one year before Adams arrived at the program.

While his college career at EWU may be over, his tenure at Oregon is just getting started. I’m sure we will hear many more great things from him this season.
