On Thursday, the Ohio State Buckeyes dropped a bombshell that star defensive end Joey Bosa was suspended for the season opener against Virginia Tech, along with wide receiver Dontre Wilson and H-backs Jalin Marshall and Corey Smith.
There were initially no details on the suspension, with Ohio State simply citing “unspecified violations of athletic department policy.”
However, shortly after the news broke, ESPN’s Joe Schad provided a reason.
According to Schad, the Ohio State suspensions stemmed from issues with academics and marijuana.

Ohio State will need to fill the holes left by the absence of all four players for their season-opener, but the good news is they will be back on the squad after just one game.
For Bosa, however, the suspension will likely lead to some extra questions throughout the draft process. In order to ensure this doesn’t impact his draft stock in a negative way, Bosa needs to return to the field and show why he is one of the best and most feared defenders in all of college football.
