EA Sports hasn’t made a college football game for the NCAA since the final edition of the franchise in 2013. Fans have been clamoring for a new game, whether by EA Sports or some other company, ever since they stopped making the games.
That hasn’t happened simply because of the Ed O’Bannon case that came about and it was proven that EA Sports used players’ likenesses (they used Tim Tebow’s name in a play in the Florida playbook) in a few editions of the game. Now that the O’Bannon case has been settled and it was ruled that the NCAA would have to pay scholarship athletes, a return for the popular video game could be on the horizon.
According to SB Nation, there is reason to believe that the NCAA will soon reignite its relationship with a video game company to make more college sports games, most importantly for the college football world.

It all comes down to money and, let’s face it, NCAA Football made the NCAA A LOT of money. I’ve always been a fan of the Madden franchise, but I have always preferred to play the college games.
I personally hope this happens again someday. Where else can you put UMass in the Big Ten or Troy in the SEC, have them go 12-0, and win a national championship?
