The Penn State Nittany Lions look to be on the rise in the Big Ten and hope to compete in the conference in 2016. They will be doing so without a linebacker who provided a big boost for them.
According to 247Sports, the Nittany Lions will be losing linebacker Troy Reeder to transfer as he will be leaving College Station to be closer to home. He will continue his college career at Delaware, where his father, Dan, played and his younger brother, Colby, just committed last week.
Reeder played in 12 games and started 11 for the Nittany Lions in 2015. He became the starter at the weak linebacker position when Jason Cabinda moved inside for an injured Nyeem Wartman-White.
The redshirt sophomore linebacker will have three years of eligibility left and will be able to play immediately in 2016 since he is moving to the FCS level. He recorded 66 tackles, 5.5 for loss, and an interception on the year.
