Mexico international Alan Pulido kidnapped in Tamaulipas

Sad news surfaced in the soccer world on Sunday, as Mediotempo.com reported Mexico international Alan Pulido had been kidnapped in the border state of Tamaulipas near his hometown of Ciudad Victoria after leaving a party

Pulido’s brother, Armando, confirmed the news.

“Yes, it’s true, the kidnapping of Alan,” he said. “He disappeared since early morning and we have the full support of the governor.”

A complaint has been filed with the Federal Police of Tamaulipas.

“There have been many calls from Mexico. We cannot give any more details,” a member of the police department told ESPN FC on the condition of anonymity.

Pulido plays striker for the Greek club Olympiakos.

Kidnappings in the state of Tamaulipas have become all to common in recent years. It is a very unfortunate and sad situation. Our thoughts and prayers are with Pulido, his family and friends, along with the loved ones of the thousands in Mexico who are continuously dealing with these frightening events.
