Video: Philip Fulmer wins Battle at Bristol golf cart race

The Virginia Tech Hokies and Tennessee Volunteers will open the 2016 college football season by playing football game at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. Everyone seems excited about it including former Volunteers head coach Philip Fulmer, who participated in a golf cart race at the Battle for Bristol Golf Tournament this weekend.

In the race, Fulmer took on former Hokie running back Kevin Jones and it looked like the latter would take the easy win. However, Fulmer took advantage of a slip up by Jones and raced his Volunteer orange golf cart to victory.

It is only appropriate that there is some sort of vehicular race featuring two big names from Virginia Tech and Tennessee since the game is being played at one of the better-known NASCAR race tracks in the country. Philip Fulmer proved that he still loves to compete and, more importantly, still loves to win.

Could this be a sign of things to come later this year? We will find out when the two teams take field on September 3.
