Mick Cronin agrees to 7 year extension with Cincinnati

Cincinnati men’s basketball coach Mick Cronin has agreed to a seven year extension to stay with his alma mater.

Cronin has been the head coach of the Bearcats since 2006 and has led them to the NCAA tournament the past four seasons with a Sweet 16 appearance in the 2011-2012 season.

His new contract will pay him $2.2 million per season.

Cincinnati finished 27-7 (15-3 AAC) in last year’s campaign but was upset in the first round of the NCAA tournament against twelfth-seeded seed Harvard.

Cronin has an overall coaching record of 231-131.
