2016 RB Antonio Williams Decommits from UNC

North Stanley (New London, North Carolina) high school running back Antonio Williams committed to North Carolina last September but decided North Carolina was not the school for him.

Williams spoke about his decision at the Rivals250 Underclassman Challenge presented by Under Armour.

“I’m going to decommit from North Carolina,” said the 5-foot-11, 210-pound Williams. “I’ve been getting a lot of interest from Wisconsin, Florida, Auburn and some other SEC schools. I feel that I want to play against the best competition in the country so I think I want to play in the SEC and play at a school where I can get the ball a lot like at Wisconsin, Florida or Auburn. Those schools build around running backs. North Carolina doesn’t really do that.

Williams will be visiting Auburn on July 19 and plans on making his final decision after his senior season. He currently holds offers from North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, and Wisconsin.
