Tigers Don’t Always Change Their Stripes

Nick Marshall had a clear and eye popping message for himself and the nation during the Georgia vs. Auburn game of 2013. The message was seen by millions when a CBS camera shot caught what was written on Nick Marshall’s wristband, “Keep Calm and STFU”.

Translation is unnecessary as anyone with familiarity in 21st century esoteric language can easily figure it out. After getting cited for marijuana possession in Reynolds, Georgia on July 11th, Marshall will need to heed his own message now more than ever. Although avoiding arrest (this time), Marshall will surely take a step back with the coaching staff and Tiger nation heading into his highly anticipated senior season. This is not Marshall’s first run in with trouble.

Prior to transferring to Auburn, Marshall allegedly stole from fellow teammates at his former school, the University of Georgia, and was promptly kicked off the team by coach Mark Richt in February of 2012. Fortunately for Marshall, he was able to recover and fell just short of bringing home a national title for Auburn University in 2013. Marshall is expected to have a monster senior season after working on his passing and mechanics with Auburn head coach Guz Malzahn, who has shown an uncanny ability to mold players for his unique offense. While on the field improvement seems inevitable, the real question for the Auburn Nation is… has this tiger really changed his stripes??? If Marshall is seeking redemption, an SEC and national championship winning senior campaign could provide just that.
