As first reported by InsideMDsports.com, Maryland forward Jake Layman will be sidelined indefinitely amidst news of a broken bone in his non-shooting hand.
The news comes as a blow to Turgeon and the program, as Layman has steadily improved his game since arriving in College Park (11.7 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 36.5 3FG%) and will be a key veteran during the team’s transition from the ACC to the Big Ten.
Layman is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, preventing him from participating in summer workouts, but all accounts say he will be healthy and ready to play before the season opener.
