Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has shown over the years he can recruit pretty well, especially in the state of Florida.
Sammy Watkins ring a bell?
Swinney stole another prospect out of the Sunshine state when Sickles (Tampa, Florida) athlete Ray-Ray McCloud III chose the Tigers over instate favorite Florida.
McCloud joins close friend and Tampa native Deon Cain in Clemson’s 2015 recruiting class. Cain is ranked as the No. 151 overall prospect and No.17 ranked wide receiver, according to Rivals.com.
McCloud is expected to play wide receiver at the next level, although he is an exceptional high school running back. He ran for 2,316 yards and 26 touchdowns during his junior season.
With his commitment, Clemson is now the No. 2 ranked class in the country, behind Alabama. McCloud is the No. 26 ranked prospect and No. 2 ranked athlete in the country.
