Todd Mayo Set To Pursue Professional Career

Marquette University guard Todd Mayo has decided to leave the program prior to his senior season in order to pursue a professional career.  Mayo played three seasons under head coach Buzz Williams averaging 11.4 points per game during his junior season.

In the off season, Marquette hired Steve Wojciechowski to replace Williams, who accepted the same position at Virginia Tech, and the decision may have sparked Mayo to leave the school.

Mayo, the younger brother of Milwaukee Bucks star O.J. Mayo, reportedly left the school in good academic standing after being enrolled in the first summer session to participate in team workouts.  Mayo was expected to be a major factor for the Golden Eagles, who lost four seniors from a season ago.  Still, Wojciechowski wished Mayo the best moving forward and Marquette will have to fill the void left by the senior guard.
