Oklahoma State Expects Major Contributions from J.T. Walsh

Oklahoma State University head football coach Mike Gundy has built his program into a perennial contender in the Big 12 conference.  Still, Gundy may not have a more essential decision to make than he does leading up to the start of the 2014 season.  The prohibitive favorite to start at quarterback is junior J.T. Walsh, who won the starting spot in the season opener a year ago, yet the move has not been finalized by coach Gundy.

Nonetheless, the entire OSU program expects major contributions from the same quarterback that threw for 1,333 yards and nine touchdown passes.

“J.W. still hasn’t played one full season, and he will continue to get better and develop as the season goes on,” said Gundy, whose team finished 17in the country a year ago. “He’ll play better this year than what he played last year. We certainly expect that and it’s our responsibility to put him in that position where he can perform and play at a high level.”
