Texas WR Jaxon Shipley Pulls Hamstring

College football fans, especially in Texas, have become accustomed to the last name Shipley.  Before Jaxon stepped on the stadium turf, big brother Jordan was establishing himself as one of the best college receivers in the country.  This season it was supposed to be Jaxon’s turn, but another injury has set the senior back.

In the first week of camp, Jaxon suffered a pulled hamstring and will miss a portion of training camp.  Head coach Charlie Strong does not think the injury is severe. The younger Shipley played through a more severe groin injury for most of last season and underwent surgery to solve the problem.

Over the course of his three prior seasons, Shipley has caught a grand total of 159 passes for 1,953 yards.  Even with his past productivity, Shipley is expected to play an even bigger role in the offense with four offensive players having been dismissed from the team.
