Auburn Tigers CB Faces Eligibility Concerns

“Student-Athletes,” the term most commonly associated with collegiate athletes has been under much scrutiny over the years regarding how seriously universities are taking the “Student” aspect of the term. Another case of eligibility concerns have arisen with Auburn Tigers cornerback Robenson Therezie.

Therezie, according to head coach Gus Malzahn, is reportedly “working through some eligibility issues,” and could potentially miss time.  A season ago, Therezie was a key part of the Tigers defense, recording 51 tackles and four interceptions including one returned for a touchdown.

The cornerback was expected to play a significant role in the defensive backfield, however, if the issues are not cleared prior to the season losing him could be a major concern for the Tigers.  Malzahn said he hopes to know Therezie’s verdict “in the near future.”  He refrained from disclosing more details.
