Mississippi State defensive tackle Damien Robinson suffered what appears to be a season-ending torn ACL. After playing in 37 career games, the 325-pound tackle was expected to shoulder more responsibility in the trenches after finally being named the starter. The injury occurred during an inter-team scrimmage that went south when Robinson went down.
There are a few potential fill-ins for Robinson, but the likely candidates are Rufus Warren, Justin Senior, or Cole Carter. The Bulldogs will need an improved defense to help the team through its vaunted SEC schedule and the loss of Robinson could prove to be a major blow for a squad hoping to elevate themselves into the top of the conference.
