The Texas A&M basketball program received a major boost earlier today when they were informed that 6 foot 10 center Tyler Davis has committed to play for the school. Davis, ranked 21st overall by ESPN, is a native of Plano, Texas and plays high school basketball at Plano West. It is believed Davis chose the Aggies over Kansas, Arizona, Baylor and Texas primarily because he wanted to stay close to home.
Davis brings an excellent post presence to College Station and has already shown a bevy of post moves that will allow him to score at the collegiate level.
Fellow Aggies freshmen Avery Johnson Jr. and Alex Robinson are former teammates of Davis from their AAU days playing for the Texas Titans. In his brief tenure with the school, head coach Billy Kennedy has done an excellent job recruiting homegrown talent, Davis is just next in a long line of Texans waiting for Kennedy’s call.
