Everett Golson Comes Back Strong in Notre Dame Return

The name Everett Golson is one to watch out for ll year, and in week one, he reminded us why he was so integral to Notre Dame’s run to the BCS Championship game two years ago.
In the Fighting Irish’s 45-17 win over Rice Saturday, Golson threw for 259 yards and two scores with an additional 41 yards and three scores on the ground.
Saturday was Golson’s first game since missing last season for academic violations, and his touchdown passes came from 75 and 53 yards out.
The (17) Fighting Irish will need a series of big games from Golson, with five other starters missing time due to the school’s current academic probe.
Next week, the team will face a much steeper test as they will play host to long-time rival Michigan. With Golson playing well, Notre Dame could be a major surprise as the season progresses.
