Nebraska’s Randy Gregory To Miss One Week

The Lincoln Journal-Star reported that Nebraska Cornhuskers defensive end Randy Gregory will likely miss next week’s game against McNeese State after having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

Head coach Bo Pelini stated that it is a result of an old injury he sustained awhile back.

“An old injury,” Pelini said, “something that flared up on him, and they went in and fixed it.”

The junior is not expected to miss an extended amount of time and could be back for the team’s first road game against Fresno State.

After transferring from Arizona Western Community College, Gregory put the nation on notice with his stellar play in his first year in Lincoln. He finished the year with 66 tackles (40 solo) and 10. 5 sacks and even showed off his pass catching ability, returning a 33 yard interception for a touchdown.

Although it’s very, very early,  many mocks are pegging Gregory to be a top pick in the 2015 NFL draft and some even have him as high as No. 2.

Nebraska will take on McNeese State without Gregory this Saturday at 12:00 ET.
