Arizona State Sun Devils Lose Two Key Players In Victory

For Arizona State, Saturday was a victory for good measure.  The Sun Devils, ranked sixteenth in the country, dismantled Pac 12 foe Colorado to the tune of 38-24 score.  Still, the game wasn’t without a major setback as quarterback Taylor Kelly sustained a right foot injury late in the third quarter.

Head coach Todd Graham addressed the injury in a post-game press conference.

Graham said, “All I know is he’s out for (Saturday) and we’ll evaluate it (Sunday).”

Making matters even worse for coach Graham was the loss of inside linebacker Viliami “Laiu” Moeakiola due to an apparent right arm injury. So far this season, Moeakiola has been the team’s best defensive stopper, but spent the rest of the game watching from the sidelines.

The impact of the injuries was noticeable beyond the depth chart, as little emotions were shown after the big victory.  The Sun Devils will have about a week and half to prepare for their heavy weight battle against (12) UCLA.
