Vanderbilt RB Brian Kimbrow Suspended Indefinitely

According to coach Derek Mason, Vanderbilt running back Brian Kimbrow has been suspended indefinitely “for conduct detrimental to the team.”

Kimbrow has seen his numbers suffer a steady decline since his freshman season stat-line of 413 yards and three touchdowns.  This year, Kimbrow has had just one carry – that resulted in a fumble – during the team’s season opening lose to Temple.

It remains unclear what exactly the rift is between Kimbrow and the coach staff, but whatever problems occurred off the field have steadily affected his ability to contribute on it.  Kimbrow will miss at least this weekend when the Commodores travel to Kentucky for both teams’ SEC opener. Kimbrow’s status should be one to follow moving forward and without Kimbrow in the lineup the Vanderbilt offense may continue to struggle.
