The Florida Gators football program is at a cross roads, and fans around college football know it. After the team’s 42-21 loss at the hands of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Gator fanatics are calling for Will Muschamp to make a move at the quarterback position and that means removing Jeff Driskel from his starting role.
Muschamp defended his decision to keep Driskel under center when addressing reporters earlier today.
“Jeff gives us the best opportunity to win right now,” Muschamp said.
Driskel is coming off of one of his worst performances of his career completing just nine of 28 passes for an abysmal 93 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. The only other option for Muschamp is true freshman Treon Harris, a four-star recruit who may not be ready for the bright lights of SEC football. It is the right decision to keep Driskel in the lineup, and its important he not only proves the naysayers wrong to keep his own job, but Muschamp’s as well.
