Notre Dame and Texas A&M have agreed to a home-and-home series for the 2024 and 2025 football seasons. The Aggies will host the first game of the series in College Station on August 31, 2024. The game will return the following season in South Bend on September 27, 2025.
“When you think of tradition-rich football programs, Texas A&M and Notre Dame are at the top of the list,” Texas A&M athletic director, Eric Hyman, said. “We are delighted to have them back on the schedule again for the first time since 2001.”
The two teams have met five times in program history, with Notre Dame leading the series 3-2. These programs are currently ranked top ten in the AP Poll, are well-coached and are big recruit draws. While A&M is not as prominent nationally as Notre Dame and has had to compete with in-state Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech and Texas Christian for top talent, Notre Dame has a storied tradition and a far reaching fan base for football – why are they are better off financially remaining a football independent without conference alignment.
