Clemson O-Lineman Joe Gore To Miss 2 Games

Clemson offensive lineman Joe Gore will miss the next two games after having his appendix removed.

Gore started the first three games for the Tigers but fell to second string. He is currently the backup to right tackle Kalon Davis and left tackle Isaiah Battle.

The redshirt junior started his football career as a defensive end at East Columbia high school in Lake Waccamaw, NC before changing positions to the offensive line at Clemson. Last year, he appeared in two games while recording two knockdowns in 58 snaps.

After a disappointing road loss to (1) Florida State, the Tigers’ offense exploded against North Carolina this past Saturday.

Clemson racked up 528 yards of total offense while lighting up the scoreboard for 50 points. True freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson had a lot of room to maneuver around the pocket and tossed 435 yards and six touchdowns in the process.

Watson’s six touchdown passes tied the ACC record and only heralded Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd threw for more yards in school history.

Up next for the Tigers (2-2,1-1)  is a much improved NC State (4-1,0-1) team. The Wolfpack put up a valiant effort against the Seminoles but fell short, 56-41. Jacoby Brissett has been very solid for the Wolfpack, but more importantly consistent. His play kept them in the game against the Seminoles, and if Clemson isn’t careful, he’s capable of doing the same again this weekend.

Clemson and NC State will be broadcasted on ESPN U at 3:30 p.m. ET.
