Notre Dame LB Kendall Moore Suspended For Season

The hits just keep on coming for the Notre Dame football program as another player, Kendall Moore, has announced that because of the academic investigation he will not be returning to the team.  The former linebacker was one of five players suspended due to alleged academic fraud and now the third of those players to not play this season.

The caption on Moore’s Instagram photo read,”while it is disappointing, I will respectfully leave my alma mater as a proud May 2014 graduate of the institution that I have respectfully loved and given my best efforts during my college career. Regardless of this announced outcome, my personal and ethical integrity remain intact Moore also thanked the Notre Dame fan base and wished them all the success in the world.”

In 2013, Moore recorded 17 total tackles and an interception to aid the Fighting Irish defense.  Moore was expected to play a more pivotal role in 2014 before being suspended indefinitely by the school on August 15.  The fifth-year senior had already earned his degree this past May as a film, television and theatre major only to return to the school to fulfill his final year of eligibility.

Notre Dame is not allowed to elaborate on the reasoning behind the decision and was only able to conduct the investigation.  It is the players’ responsibility to inform their teammates as well as the press of the school’s findings.  Moore joins DaVaris Daniels and KeiVarae Russell as three players suspended for the season.  The verdicts on defensive end Ishaq Williams and defensive back Eilar Hardy remain a mystery, but things do not look positive for the other two players.
