After months of drama and leaked information regarding the Notre Dame academic investigation, there is finally some good news for Fighting Irish fans: Safety Eilar Hardy was invited back to practice with the squad. Head coach Brian Kelly viewed Hardy as the most likely candidate to return to the team, and as long as he finishes the required work, he will be able to compete for Irish.
When discussing the details surrounding the return, Kelly said, “We have some work to do in terms of some of his academic work he’s working on right now in terms of trying to get that organized, but if we’re able to get some of those things organized, we’re going to bring him back to practice after we get back from the bye. I’ve invited him back on the roster to practice and we’ll take it from there.”
The senior safety has 26 career tackles, all from last season, and should be a major contributor after the bye week.
Each of the other four players will not be active members of the Notre Dame roster this season, but two athletes- Ishaq Williams and KeiVarae Russell- will return to the school next season while DaVaris Daniels and Kendall Moore have finished their time as members of the Fighting Irish football program.
