Kenny Hill to Transfer from Texas A&M

Replacing a Heisman trophy winner is no easy job.  Kenny Hill seemed to have the Aggie faithfuls feeling hopeful after Johnny Manziel’s departure when he threw for 511 yards (school record) and three touchdowns in the opening game of the season, beating South Carolina 52-28.  The college football world turned Hill into a sensation, calling him the next Johnny Football and giving him the nickname Kenny Trill.  His parents even filed to trademark his newfound name.

Now, the sophomore quarterback from Southlake, TX. is asking the school to release him as he is planning on transferring.

Following his incredible debut, the Aggies managed to have a 5-0 start and climbed up the rankings to No. 6.  When it came down to the core games of the season, Hill failed to execute.  Although he passed for 904 yards and six touchdowns in the three game span, he also threw six interceptions. A&M lost all three games to not only conference opponents, but division rivals, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Alabama.

At the same time Hill was replaced due to poor performance by freshman Kyle Allen, he was put on a two-game suspension for violation of team rules.  Texas A&M managed to finish 8-5 with Allen at quarterback, who is projected to start next season.

Hill finishes the 2014 with 2,649 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
