TCU’s Trevone Boykin undergoes minor wrist surgery

TCU Horned Frogs quarterback Trevone Boykin will be on the sidelines for the foreseeable future, following minor wrist surgery.

The good news for the Horned Frogs faithful and head coach Gary Patterson, however, is that Boykin’s surgery was on his non-throwing wrist and he is expected to be back later in the spring.

In fact, if the early diagnosis is correct, Boykin could be back to the TCU lineup as soon as May.

Everything is great,” TCU coach Gary Patterson told FOX Sports Southwest. “Minor surgery so no worries. He will be ready to go by the first of May.”

That means Boykin will miss the TCU Spring Game, but that is not a major concern.

Last season, Trevone Boyking threw for  3,901 yards and 33 touchdowns, while adding an another 707 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.

Many teams believed that TCU, led by Boykin, who finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting, deserved a spot in the inaugural College Football Playoff.

With a healthy Boykin returning this season, they will be able to once again state their case.
