After leading the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes to a BCS National Championship, head coach Urban Meyer is claiming a prize on top of the trophy and even more national recognition.
Per Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports, Meyer is about to become one of the highest paid coaches in the game.
Urban Meyer deal w #OhioState has been extended thru the 2020 season; will average $6.5 MILLION over the next 6 years.

This is a step up from the first deal Meyer signed with Ohio State, which would have paid him $40 million over seven years. Now, he is set to be the highest paid college football coach behind Alabama’s Nick Saban, and his salary has an asterisk due to a clause he has in his contract.
But that’s irrelevant.
This is about one of the best coaches in the game in Meyer bringing a program back into a positive light following a scandal, winning a championship against an Oregon Ducks team that seemed destined to win and thus earning a bigger paycheck.
With key players like running backs Ezekiel Elliott and Jalin Marshall returning, Buckeyes fans should be excited for the upcoming season as well as Meyer being around for a little while longer.
Congratulations to Urban Meyer. Now, how about solving the three-headed quarterback monster that is Cardale Jones, Braxton Miller and J.T. Barrett?
